India has 290 million students, a bold National Education Policy 2020, a rapidly digitising infrastructure — and yet only 3% of institutions have integrated AI into structured educational workflows. Meanwhile, 89% rely on general-purpose AI tools with no strategy, no guardrails, no policy.
The DPDP Act 2023 imposes fines up to ₹500 million for non-compliance. AI becomes a compulsory subject from Class 3 in 2026–27. Teachers — over 70% of them — already use AI daily, but without governance. The gap between intent and execution was the problem. Flinterra was built to close it.
